Feast of the Transfiguration

Today we celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration.  The Feast commemorates the transfiguration of Jesus the Christ on top of a mountain, when our Lord appeared in His divine glory before Peter, James and John.  This mountain was a point where human nature met God, with Jesus as the connector between heaven and earth.
While none of us may find ourselves dazzling white and gleaming as bright as the sun, no doubt we will find times in our lives where we change, where our lives become transfigured, where, just for a moment we feel that connection between heaven and earth.
Take a few minutes and click the link below to read of such an experience.  Authored by my talented daughter-in-law, Joelle, she writes about the experience she and my son Peter had one winter day on top of the Sandia Mountains.
It can’t be said any better…

What a total blessing and complete delight to read Joelle's essay. She paints an exquisite word picture that I plan to revisit again and again. Transfigured, indeed.
