Many, many thanks Jim for this deeply moving homily. It brought me to tears pretty quickly. Having spent time in stables, it is stunning that God would choose/allow such a place for His Son to be born. The Lamb of God is early introduced to shepherds to whom the angels of God were sent. And your family gatherings as a small boy imprinted on you and surely all gathered, that God had something for us fhat no one could imagine. From the joys of Christmas Eve's music, food, family, and friends, to forthcoming weariness as well as triumph beyond telling, God continues to come in ways unimaginable. Do we recognize Him in those comings or take the attitude of "No room" ?
